Churchill County is hiring a full-time Administrative Assistant – Grants to support the development of policies and procedures for grant-funded programs, while also managing essential financial oversight. In this critical role, you will help establish and maintain the operational framework that guides grant program implementation. Your responsibilities will include drafting and refining policies and procedures to ensure compliance with grant conditions, regulatory requirements, and internal standards. At the same time, you will manage and track grant funding, assist with budgeting, and handle financial transactions to ensure accurate reporting and fiscal responsibility. Ideal candidates will bring experience in accounting, bookkeeping, accounts payable, or payroll—paired with strong organizational skills and a keen eye for detail. As a full-time, regular position, the person hired would be enrolled in the Nevada PERS retirement system. In addition to the salary paid, the county contributes an additional 36.75% into PERS on the employee's behalf (value of $9.19 /hour or $19,100 annually). In addition, the employee will not contribute to Social Security, resulting in an additional 6% in take-home pay (an equivalent of $1.50/hour or $3,100 annually). The county also pays 100% for employee-only health insurance premiums (equivalent to $13,500 annually). An employee in this position will also receive full accruals of vacation leave (8 hours per month) and sick leave (10 hours per month), in addition to 8 hours of pay for 12 paid holidays. Applications will be taken on an ongoing basis until the position is filled, with the initial review of applications expected to begin on October 11, 2026. Responsible for identifying, preparing, and managing grant and cooperative agreement proposals and reports, ensuring compliance with funding requirements, and supporting county goals through grant funded initiatives. This class is distinguished from other County office support classifications in that incumbents provide administrative services specifically for grant funding initiatives.
