About The Position

Cardinal Shehan School, located in Baltimore, Maryland, is seeking a qualified Administrative Assistant for the school office for the 2026–2027 academic school year. The Administrative Assistant will perform a wide range of administrative and office support activities for the school office.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years' experience in an administrative support role
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Outlook, and Google Docs
  • Knowledge of principles and practice of office management
  • Commitment to exemplary customer service
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Desire to participate in on-going training
  • Teamwork with an emphasis on flexibility and adaptability
  • Effective problem solving, prioritization, and decision-making skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to deal with the ambiguity of handling new questions or problems that occur throughout the day
  • The ability to juggle multiple projects at the same time
  • Willingness to research previous solutions as a resource in solving current issues
  • Punctuality

Nice To Haves

  • Some college experience a plus
  • Previous experience in an educational setting (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist students, parents, staff, and visitors in a warm and professional manner
  • Answer and direct phone calls, take messages, and manage school email communications
  • Maintain student records, attendance data, and confidential files in accordance with school policies and privacy regulations
  • Assist with scheduling, calendar management, and coordination of meetings and school events
  • Process incoming and outgoing mail and school correspondence
  • Support teachers and administrators with clerical tasks such as copying, filing, and preparing materials
  • Coordinate student registration, enrollment, and withdrawal processes
  • Manage inventory and order office and classroom supplies as needed
  • Support emergency drills and safety protocols, including contacting parents and staff as needed
  • Serve as a liaison between the school, families, and district or diocesan offices
  • Perform other duties as assigned from time to time
