Performs a variety of administrative/clerical duties for the Case Management department. Provides administrative support in the Case Management department including answering/routing telephone calls/messages/emails, mail sorting, and scanning. Collaborates and communicates with nurses, social workers, physicians, revenue cycle, and outside vendors. Obtains insurance authorizations and denials for hospitalization and documents required information in the EMR as assigned. Communicates insurance clinical requirements to the utilization review (UR) nurse and documents in the EMR as assigned. Maintains assigned worques and calendars. Assists with and prepares for onboarding of new team members. Assists with evaluating the office environment, revising procedures, improving efficiency of workflow, and initiating cost reduction programs.
