About The Position

The Treasury Division of the Alaska Department of Revenue is recruiting for an Administrative Assistant 2 located in Juneau, Alaska. This position supports the Administrative Operations Manager in meeting division goals, which include providing clerical support, accounts payable and receivable processing and management, travel coordination, and other administrative duties. The role involves processing mail, answering calls, preparing materials for stakeholder meetings, and serving as the primary processor of invoices and accounts payable. This includes ensuring invoice accuracy, applying financial coding, managing encumbrances (purchase orders and contracts), tracking expenditures, and requesting adjustments. The incumbent will also provide travel planning assistance and ensure timely clearing and coding of travel charges, requiring communication with outside agencies.

Requirements

  • Six months of entry-level technical experience in one or more administrative functional areas such as human resources, accounting, administration, and procurement (e.g., Administrative Assistant 1, Accounting Technician 1, Human Resource Technician 1, or equivalent).
  • OR One year of advanced-level clerical experience (e.g., Office Assistant 2, Accounting Clerk, or equivalent).
  • OR One year of post-secondary education from an accredited college (32 semester hours or 48 quarter hours).
  • OR One year of any combination of post-secondary education, vocational education, and/or advanced-level clerical experience.
  • List of three (3) professional references to include daytime telephone and email address (one must be a current or former supervisor).
  • Last two (2) performance evaluations (or supervisory letters of recommendation if unavailable).
  • Copies of transcripts to verify educational credentials (unofficial transcripts are acceptable if they include the URL and institution name).
  • Evidence of foreign education being deemed equivalent to U.S. education if applicable.
  • Employer name, job title, dates of employment, and whether full- or part-time for work experience not already documented in the application.
