About The Position

As an Administrative Assistant 2 for the Department of Crop and Soil Sciences , you will assist the Finance and Budget Manager in all aspects of performing technical and fiscal analysis and financial reporting including analysis, planning, interpreting and review of fiscal operations . Under general direction, you will perform a variety of fiscal support functions that pertain to personnel, faculty and staff and effect state, contracts, and grant funds for various agencies. You will establish and maintain a comprehensive fiscal record keeping system and coordinate diverse unit wide fiscal support with functions in payroll, travel, procurement and budget planning. Additional Information: This is a full-time (100 % FTE), permanent position. This position is overtime eligible. Monthly Salary: $3,665 to $4,882 | Range 41, Step A - M | Successful candidates are typically hired at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28 . In accordance with RCW 49.58.110 , the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent AND two years of clerical, office or administrative experience; OR One year of experience as an Administrative Assistant 1; OR Equivalent education/experience

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in OPDRS Personnel and Payroll Workday applications.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office (including Excel, Word).
  • Knowledge of Washington State University ( WSU) University Policies and Procedures (U PPM ).
  • Experience in higher education, local or state agency, or equivalent.
  • Ability to multi-task and move proficiently from task to task.
