About The Position

The main purpose of the Administrative Assistant position is to function as administrative support to the Office of Education Advocacy (OEA) and the Commissioner`s Office. This position will be a central point of contact where parents, students, community members, education staff, and elected officials can direct inquiries, ensuring consistency and reliability in the information provided. In addition, this position will assist with travel coordination for the Executive Team as well as serving as a backup to the travel coordinator and Executive Secretary.   • Six months of advanced clerical experience. This experience includes work such as Office Assistant 2, Accounting Clerk, and similar classes with the State of Alaska or the equivalent with another employer.

  • Six months of any combination of post-secondary education, vocational education, and/or advanced-level clerical experience. (Three semester or four quarter hours of post-secondary education are equal to one month of experience; 150 hours of vocational education are equal to one month of experience.)

Nice To Haves

  • Notary Public desired but not required.
  • Valid Driver's license desired but not required.
