This position coordinates an average of 85 workshops and 5-7 major conferences and events during the academic year. The workshop series is shared with other components of the Economics Super-Department (School of Industrial & Labor Relations and Brooks School of Public Policy) and is a key component of the graduate program curriculum. This position is responsible for extensive coordination with faculty and other departments to organize, facilitate and implement the workshop series, seminars, conferences, faculty/student review sessions, and other department events and meetings. In addition to the workshop series, there is an average of 5-7 seminars and conferences/year that this position is responsible for coordinating with other departments and schools, to include arranging transportation logistics, travel schedules, itinerary's, appointment contacts, etc. This role also supports the department's daily administrative operations by managing visitors to the office, key and supply inventories, incoming and outgoing mail, assisting faculty with classroom reservations and exam copying, scanning, and other departmental support needs. The Economics Super-Department includes more than 60 faculty, visiting scholars, and postdoctoral researchers, along with 375 undergraduate majors and 100 Ph.D. students, serving more than 5,000 students annually. The department spans three colleges: the College of Arts & Sciences, the School of Industrial and Labor Relations, and the Jeb E. Brooks School of Public Policy. While it reports administratively to all three colleges, faculty, staff, students, and funding are distributed across each entity.
