About The Position

The Superior Court of California, County of San Francisco, is seeking qualified individuals for the Administrative Analyst III position to support the Data & Business Analytics and Collaborative Courts teams. This is a 1-year appointment with the possibility of extension. The role involves developing SQL queries, analyzing data models, building data dashboards, and working closely with court staff, judicial officers, and management to create data solutions. Responsibilities include extraction and quality assurance queries, automated reporting, data testing and validation, complex research, managing data analytical projects (e.g., resource allocation modeling, program evaluation, time studies), preparing reports, making presentations, and handling ad hoc assignments. The position also requires coordinating and participating in meetings, preparing meeting materials, and providing administrative and programmatic support to the Collaborative Courts when needed. This is a temporary, grant-funded position.

Requirements

  • Three years of progressively responsible professional analytical work experience, preferably in a governmental setting.
  • Experience in project management, public outreach, administrative support and services, program tracking and data entry, and facilities management.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate data analytical functions, including SQL query development, dashboard construction, and data analytical research.
  • Ability to perform a wide variety of analytical work and research assignments.
  • Ability to oversee, coordinate, and execute projects to their conclusion.
  • Ability to organize statistical and narrative information clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to schedule and manage meetings with different work units and summarize and process qualitative and quantitative information.
  • Ability to gather, maintain, and analyze information regarding division or unit operations and functions.
  • Ability to administer surveys and work with survey data.
  • Ability to organize and present ideas and recommendations orally and in writing.
  • Ability to interpret State, Federal, and local laws, codes, and regulations.
  • Ability to prepare comprehensive, clear reports.
  • Ability to operate a computer and use appropriate software for administrative and analytical work.
  • Ability to effectively represent the San Francisco Superior Court and an assigned unit with the public, other Court staff, and other government agencies.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.
  • Must be able to travel within San Francisco for work-related meetings.

Nice To Haves

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, public administration, or a closely related field.
  • Knowledge of the functions, organizations, programs, and policies of the Court and an assigned unit or division.
  • Knowledge of research and information-gathering techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Develops SQL queries for multiple data systems.
  • Builds data dashboards in Power BI.
  • Analyzes data models and promotes standardized data definitions.
  • Works closely with the Collaborative Courts division, managing program data.
  • Conducts specialized research and analyses.
  • Manages all aspects of meetings, including planning, developing agendas, and preparing briefing documents, meeting reports, minutes, and other materials.
  • Performs administrative and analytical assignments, including program and performance analyses, and special projects.
  • Collects information on special issues, prepares data analysis, and develops reports.
  • Organizes information for formal presentations and makes presentations.
  • Performs cost analyses to plan for future expenditures.
  • Assists with a variety of special projects.
