About The Position

The Administrative Analyst III position in Data & Business Analytics is only open to current employees of the Superior Court of California, County of San Francisco (the Court). The Court invites applications from qualified individuals interested in the Administrative Analyst III position to provide support to the Data & Business Analytics team. The Administrative Analyst III develops SQL queries, analyzes data models, and builds data dashboards; works closely with Court judicial officers, management, and staff in the development of data solutions, including extraction and quality assurance queries; tests and validates data; executes complex detailed research and analytical assignments; manages various data analytical projects such as resource allocation modeling, program evaluation, and time studies; prepares reports; makes presentations for various internal and external audiences; executes ad hoc assignments; coordinates and actively participates in meetings, and prepares meeting materials including, but not limited to, agendas, briefing documents, meeting notes/minutes; and performs other job-related duties as required. The Administrative Analyst III will work under the direction of the Chief Data Officer and in close collaboration with Judicial Officers, executive management staff, other staff, and the public. This selection process is being conducted in accordance with San Francisco Superior Court Personnel Rule 4. An eligibility list will not be established.

Requirements

  • Three years of progressively responsible professional analytical work experience, preferably in a governmental setting, performing work duties related to project management, public outreach, administrative support and services, program tracking and data entry, and facilities management.

Nice To Haves

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, public administration, or a closely related field is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of Functions, organizations, programs, and policies of the Court and an assigned unit or division.

  • Knowledge of Statistical methods and analysis.

  • Ability to Plan, organize, and coordinate various data analytical functions of an assigned area of Court operations, such as SQL query development, dashboard construction, and data analytical research.
  • Ability to Perform a wide variety of analytical work and research assignments.
  • Ability to Oversee, coordinate, and execute projects to their conclusion.
  • Ability to Organize statistical and narrative information in a clear, concise manner.
  • Ability to Schedule and manage meetings with different work units and summarize and process qualitative and quantitative information obtained from them.
  • Ability to Gather, maintain, and analyze a variety of information regarding division or unit operations and functions.
  • Ability to Administer surveys and work with survey data.
  • Ability to Organize and present ideas and recommendations both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to Interpret State, Federal, and local laws, codes, and regulations regarding the area of assignment.
  • Ability to Prepare comprehensive, clear reports.
  • Ability to Operate a computer and use appropriate software in the performance of administrative and analytical work.
  • Ability to Effectively represent the San Francisco Superior Court and an assigned unit with the public, other Court staff, and other government agencies.
  • Ability to Maintain confidential information when required by legal or ethical standards.
  • Ability to Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Develops SQL queries, analyzes data models, and builds data dashboards.
  • Works closely with Court judicial officers, management, and staff in the development of data solutions, including extraction and quality assurance queries.

  • Builds data dashboards in Power BI.
  • Performs resource allocation modeling.
  • Manages program data and conducts specialized research and analyses.
  • Manages all aspects of meetings including, but not limited to, planning and developing agendas and preparing briefing documents, meeting reports, minutes, and other meeting materials.
  • Performs administrative and analytical assignments including, but not limited to, program and performance analyses and special projects.
  • Collects information on special issues, preparing analysis of data and developing reports as assigned.
  • Organizes information for formal presentations and makes presentations as directed.
  • Performs cost analyses to plan for future expenditures.
  • Assists with a variety of special projects as assigned.
