The Inventory Control Administrator is responsible for maintaining the balance of inventory and demand, monitoring available materials and ensuring the accuracy of inventory. The role carries responsibility for working with sales and dispatch to ensure necessary functions are carried out correctly. This role also requires working with logistics and dispatch to handle routing exceptions for customer deliveries and working directly with the Oracle Transportation Management System Planner. The Inventory Control Administrator will work directly with the OTM system planner to verify and amend daily logistics routes for the branch. They will work with the sales and Operations team to ensure customer orders are routed appropriately with all changes or exceptions included in the driver routes for the following day. This role involves communicating daily routes to the sales staff each day. The administrator will analyze inventory levels and work with sales staff to ensure product availability and minimize inventory costs. Responsibilities include performing regular cycle counts and ensuring adjustments are made when necessary, identifying and processing damaged inventory using BlueLinx processes and procedures, and maintaining accurate records of inventory levels and location for easy retrieval. The role requires balancing inventory daily with yard/warehouse personnel and adjusting inventory to physical count. The administrator will assist yard/warehouse staff in locating items that may have incorrect locations or inventory numbers. They will ensure work orders are correct and fully completed and that all stock has been allocated to the job correctly. Collaboration with sales staff is required when revising production schedules due to material shortages, backlogs or other interruptions. The administrator will ensure materials are ready and available for remanufacturing production when required and chase any materials that are holding up remanufacturing production until received. Processing remanufacturing orders after material is released from Reman and costing the finished product accordingly is also part of the role. Participation in physical inventories and reconciling inventory records for a complete and accurate count is expected. Coordinating drop-off and pick-up of trucks and trailers in/out of the shop, dispatching tire repair and roadside service as needed, and communicating with drivers on delivery discrepancies are also key functions. Adjusting delivery routes in coordination with the Route Planner and providing Weekly, Monthly, and Quarterly inventory control reporting to the Operations Manager and GM are required.
