About The Position
This internship offers exposure to the worldwide administration of Sony Music Publishing’s (SMP) Pop, Latin, Hip-Hop, and R&B catalogs. Responsibilities include processing song deliveries, liaising with income sources, song data maintenance, and copyright registrations. SMP is the #1 global music publisher, dedicated to advancing songwriters and composers for over 25 years, and is part of the Sony family of global companies.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a college or university
- Passionate about the music and entertainment business, and have a desire to build a career in the industry
- Hungry to learn and grow. Curious, ask questions and get excited about new projects
- Enthusiastic collaborator with a professional and positive attitude
- Organized person that pays close attention to the details
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
Nice To Haves
- An interest in Music Publishing Administration preferred
Responsibilities
- Shadow team members to learn about different roles in Copyright Administration and other music publishing administration roles and functions
- Research, prepare, and file Copyright Registrations with the U.S. Copyright Office
- Update records in SMP’s database
- Scan, upload, and index various documents into cloud-based document retention system
- Assist team members with various tasks and projects
- Participate in the inclusive employee culture at SMP
