About The Position

Are you looking to start a career in the field of human resources? The Department of Environmental Protection's HR Office is looking for a candidate with excellent analytical and communication skills to participate in a paid, 12-month, on-the-job, training program as an Administration and Management Trainee with our agency's Talent Management section. Upon successful completion of this training year, you will be promoted to Human Resource Analyst 1. Apply today for this exciting opportunity! Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree, including 15 credits in public administration, business administration, or a closely related field; or An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes 15 credits in public administration, business administration, or a closely related field.
  • Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
  • You must meet the PA residency requirement.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions

Responsibilities

  • Provide direction to hiring managers on posting options, requisitions, and selection strategies
  • Analyze posting history and related information to shape recruitment strategies
  • Complete required forms, attach documentation, and route materials through NEOGOV
  • Review applicant materials, manage interview steps, and support legal hiring decisions
  • Update systems and reports to ensure accurate vacancy and process information
  • Assist managers with question development and ensure job related evaluation methods
