About The Position

The Plant Accountant is an on-site role at the copper tube manufacturing facility in Fulton, Mississippi, responsible for all financial and accounting functions of Fulton's copper tube operations. The role supports month-end close, balance sheet and expense account analysis, plant-level GAAP compliance, budgeting and forecasting, plant operations, annual physical inventories, and internal and external audits. Day-to-day work includes reporting production and spending information to management, overseeing raw material receipts in the ERP system, reconciling production numbers and making adjustments, tracking scrap and production yield, managing fixed assets and depreciation, reporting on capital projects, processing weekly payroll journal entries, and overseeing accounts payable.

Requirements

BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Strong organizational and time-management skills in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines.
Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Competence with spreadsheets and databases.

Nice To Haves

Three or more years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

Participate in month-end close, including preparing journal entries and reconciling inventory.
Reconcile balance sheet accounts.
Explain fluctuations in balance sheet and expense accounts.
Ensure plant-level compliance with generally accepted accounting principles.
Participate in plant-level budgeting and forecasting as needed.
Provide financial support and direction to the plant operations team.
Provide accounting leadership during annual physical inventories.
Interact with internal and external auditors.
Provide production numbers, spending updates, and other ad hoc reports to management.
Oversee raw material receipts into the ERP system.
Reconcile production numbers and perform adjustments.
Track scrap produced and enter transactions in the system.
Track production yield.
Manage the fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and capital project reporting.
Process weekly payroll journal entries.
Oversee accounts payable.
