About The Position

As the Admin Nursing Supervisor (RN), you will be in charge of assigned shift during absence of hospital and Patient Care Services Administration. Provides administrative and complex clinical leadership. Utilizes clinical and administrative expertise to lead, support, and supervise personnel and ensure that standards are met. Exhibits specific behaviors in the areas of: Administration, Clinical/Patient Care, Staff Development, Personal Professionalism, and Safety.

Requirements

  • Licensed and currently registered in the State of Connecticut as a Professional Nurse (Required)
  • Five years of current acute care nursing experience (Required)

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelorette degree in nursing or certification in a specialty (Preferred)
  • Demonstrated expertise in med/surg and critical care (Preferred)
  • One year of experience in a leadership role (Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Acts as the administrative supervisor for all departments during evening, night, and weekend shifts, including managing operations for closed departments.
  • Serves as a key clinical resource person, providing leadership, guidance, and support for staff development across units.
  • Functions as a dedicated patient advocate, challenging potentially harmful care and ensuring a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Oversees and manages the patient admission process to ensure full alignment with hospital policies.
  • Initiates cost-containment measures with a strong focus on optimizing manpower and maintaining safe, adequate staffing levels.
  • Facilitates conflict resolution and cohesion between units while handling performance reviews and feedback for assigned staff.
