About The Position

The Admin Hyperbaric Technician Lead is responsible for the safe and proficient operation of hyperbaric chambers, including performing and documenting safety checks, conducting safety inspections, and maintaining accurate records. This role also involves patient monitoring during Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) treatments, ensuring proper delivery of oxygen and observing for adverse reactions. Additionally, the technician will assist physicians and nurses with wound care, document patient vital signs and treatment notes, and set weekly staffing schedules.

Requirements

H.S. Diploma or Equivalent required
2 Years diving/medical hypo/hyperbaric experience required.
CHT – Certified Hyperbaric Technologist Upon Hire Required
Ability to read and understand operations manuals, treatment tables, schedules
Advanced knowledge of technical and safety programs for hyperbaric monoplace chambers
Leadership and communication skills

Nice To Haves

Associate degree science related field preferred
5 Years diving/medical hypo/hyperbaric experience preferred.
2 Years in team leader or charge role preferred.

Responsibilities

Operate in hypo/hyperbaric mode following prescribed tables for clinical treatments and research programs.
Perform and document all safety and operational checks on chambers and associated mechanical equipment on a daily basis.
Conduct all safety inspections directed by national codes and standards.
Log and record time, pressures, depths, altitudes, etc. of chamber operations.
Maintain complete and accurate historical records on chambers, mechanical equipment and life support devices.
Assist patients with donning and adjusting oxygen delivery devices.
Assist in the management of medical emergencies such as seizures, respiratory and cardiac arrest.
Maintain IV's and other patient care activities within the scope of training policies.
Continually monitor patients during treatments to ensure the proper delivery of oxygen or other breathing medium, watching for signs and symptoms of oxygen intolerance, claustrophobia, diabetic reactions, decompression sickness, and gas embolism.
Assist physicians and nurses with wound care and wound dressing changes.
Perform and document patient vital signs and blood sugars as required.
Size patients for proper fit of appropriate oxygen delivery device prior to initial treatment.
Set weekly staffing schedules on a rotational basis based on patient care needs.
Document patient vital signs, daily treatment notes, and/or wound care notes.
