About The Position

This position may be filled as an Administrative Assistant II or I depending on the qualifications and or the experience of the selected candidate. The Administrative Assistant I will work under minimal supervision, plan and layout work details, and perform all phases of computer clerical support for the department to which assigned. Responsibilities include creating and maintaining files, records, reports, maps, and charts. The role requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and communicate effectively and professionally during stressful conditions when dealing with internal and external customers. The position involves creating and assisting with special projects, including sensitive and confidential data, and providing support for outage restorations during scheduled and non-scheduled hours as required. The successful candidate will learn the company’s policies, procedures, and responsibilities of the assigned department, train personnel regarding departmental functions and policies, use independent decision-making, and check the work of others.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • General knowledge of clerical work and familiarity with all phases of work
  • Some knowledge of utility operations practices and regulations
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in use of company computer programs and terminal applications
  • Good analytical skills
  • Ability to work under stressful conditions
  • Knowledge of company organizational operations to which assigned
  • Qualify for vehicle operator’s license
  • Must be willing and able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation
