The Virginia Military Institute Biology Department is hiring a non-tenure-track adjunct instructor to teach primarily introductory biology courses in the Core Curriculum. Courses are taught in person, usually to classes of 16–24 cadets. The teaching load is up to two courses with laboratories per semester, with the possibility of additional summer classes. Longer-term adjunct instructors may have the opportunity to teach an upper-level course in their area of specialty. Military experience is not required, and adjunct instructors are not required to wear uniforms or follow the military customs required of full-time VMI faculty. The successful candidate will serve under a renewable contract. The current salary rate for one laboratory course is $9,832; the hiring range is based on qualifications and experience. VMI is a state-supported, four-year undergraduate military college located in Virginia’s southern Shenandoah Valley, with an emphasis on teaching and undergraduate research. Applicants should email a CV and unofficial transcripts to COL Emily Fadia, Professor of Biology. Applications are reviewed upon receipt.
