About The Position

Brigham Young University (BYU) is seeking an Adjunct Teaching position in Mathematics to teach undergraduate-level courses, including freshman-level mathematics. The position requires a commitment to the university's unique mission, which is to assist individuals in their quest for perfection and eternal life. Employees are expected to support and contribute to the academic and religious missions of the university within the context of the principles and doctrines of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This role requires the successful candidate to relocate and/or reside in Utah for the duration of their employment.

Requirements

  • MS in mathematics is required.
  • The required degree must be completed by the start date.
  • Demonstrate excellence in teaching.
  • Desire and ability to teach undergraduate-level mathematics, including courses at the freshman level.
  • Successful candidate must relocate and/or reside in Utah for the duration of their employment.
  • All new employees who are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will be required to hold and be worthy to hold a current temple recommend.
  • All employees are required to abide by the university's Honor Code and Dress & Grooming Standards.

  • PhD in mathematics is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Teach Math 112, 113, 213, 302, 303, 314, 334, at the undergraduate level, including courses at the freshman level.
  • Support the university, college, and department goals and missions.
  • Live a life of loyalty to Jesus Christ and His restored Church and align yourself with doctrine and teachings declared by living prophets, seers, and revelators.
  • Demonstrate intentionality in building faith in Jesus Christ and testimony of His restored gospel among students and others in the BYU community.
  • Teach subject matter with the Spirit of God and strive to keep it “bathed in the light and color of the restored gospel”.
  • Support and contribute to the academic and religious missions of the university within the context of the principles and doctrines of the affiliated church.
