About The Position

The Environmental Studies Program at Seton Hall University invites applications for an adjunct instructor of Environmental Studies for Spring 2027. The ideal candidate has an interdisciplinary background in the environmental social sciences or sustainability sciences, with both research and teaching experience. Applicants must be prepared to teach Introduction to Environmental Studies, our signature introductory survey course for both majors and non-majors. Seton Hall University is in South Orange, New Jersey, 14 miles from New York City. It is the oldest Catholic diocesan institution of higher education in the United States. Students also learn by doing, with credit-bearing internships and other experiential learning opportunities.

Requirements

PhD in Environmental Studies, Sustainability Education, Environmental Policy, Geography, Anthropology, Sociology, or related fields.
ABD candidates may be considered but the degree must be completed at the time of appointment.
