About The Position

Florida SouthWestern State College is seeking an Adjunct Professor of TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) for the B.S., Elementary Education program in the School of Education. Adjunct professors are responsible for providing professional quality work as a teaching faculty member. This includes conducting and teaching courses in the evenings via Live Online (Zoom) within the prescribed curriculum, preparing and delivering lectures, compiling and grading examinations, and providing academic assistance to students. The role aims to impact the college mission to inspire students to 'Dedicate to Graduate'. Unofficial transcripts are required for consideration.

Requirements

• Doctoral or master's degree in TESOL, Bilingual Education, or TESOL Literacy from a regionally accredited institution of higher education in the teaching discipline or a master’s degree with a concentration in related TESOL, Bilingual Education, and/or Curriculum and Instruction courses (a minimum of 18 graduate semester credit hours in the teaching discipline)
• Demonstrated ability to use technology in creating and delivering course content
• Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of the subject area to be taught and currency in the discipline
• 3 years of successful full-time permanent teaching in related K-12 classrooms

Responsibilities

• Conducting and teaching courses in the evenings in the Live Online (Zoom) modality within the prescribed curriculum for students enrolled at the College
• Preparing and delivering lectures to students
• Compiling, administering and grading examinations
• Providing academic assistance to students as needed
