About The Position

Embedded faculty are employed hired by Collin College as adjunct faculty to teach college courses and must meet the credentialing standards as established in the Faculty Credentialing Manual. In accordance with Texas Education Code §51.992, this position is designated for in-person work at a campus or other location of Collin College. Remote or telecommuting arrangements are not permitted except under specific circumstances defined by law, including temporary illness, approved distance education assignments, or other narrow statutory exceptions. All candidates should expect to perform duties on-site. Candidates are also encouraged to review this in-person requirement and reach out with any questions if further clarification is needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in military service or other qualifying fields.
  • Must have completed either USACC’s Common Faculty Development Instructor Course (CFDIC) or Master Educator Course (MEC)
  • This is a Security Sensitive position. Therefore, candidates will be subject to a criminal background check.
  • If selected for a dual credit course(s), an additional background check requiring fingerprinting with the TX DPS will be required from the assigned ISD. Any questions related to the fingerprinting process should be directed to the ISD to which the faculty member is being assigned.

Responsibilities

  • All faculty must be credentialed with official transcripts submitted.
  • Embedded faculty receive payment from the college depending on when their class is held.
  • Embedded faculty will work with their college supervisor regarding class schedules.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Perform all duties and maintain all standards in accordance with college policies, procedures and Core Values.
