About The Position

Responsible to prepare and deliver coursework in engaging, innovative, and discipline-appropriate ways that reflect a commitment to the college's core values, an understanding of culturally responsive teaching, and knowledge of the teaching field. Meet professional standards for faculty in accordance with college policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or higher in Medical Laboratory Technology or closely related field, and hold certification as a Medical Lab Technician (MLT) by the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or by the American Medical Technology (AMT)
  • OR Bachelor’s degree or higher in Discipline/Qualifying field or closely related field AND holds a certification as a Medical Lab Scientist (MLS) by ASCP or AMT
  • OR Medical Doctor or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine with board certification in pathology.
  • Conferred transcripts, licenses, and certifications MUST be attached to the application.
  • This position is Security Sensitive, therefore, candidates will be subject to a criminal background check.
  • If selected for a dual credit course(s), an additional background check requiring fingerprinting with the TX DPS will be required from the assigned ISD.

  • Teaching experience is desired.

Responsibilities

  • Teach courses in accordance with the schedule of classes and follow the approved course descriptions and syllabi established by the Division faculty and administered by the associate dean/director.
  • Teaching assignments may be on one or more of the college's campuses or off-site locations and may include evening and weekend programs.
  • May include Dual Credit courses.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Perform all duties and maintain all standards in accordance with college policies, procedures and core values.
