About The Position

Oakland Community College (OCC) is a student-centered community college in Oakland County, Michigan, dedicated to providing accessible and affordable quality learning opportunities. As one of the largest community colleges in Michigan, OCC serves over 12,000 students across its multi-campus system. OCC is seeking Adjunct Faculty Instructors who are committed to diversity, shared responsibility, open communication, personal empowerment, integrity, and ethical conduct. A key requirement for Adjunct Faculty is the commitment to utilizing modern technology in the classroom. Applications for adjunct positions are accepted on a continuous basis and are maintained in a candidate pool. Adjunct Instructors are hired as needed throughout the academic year based on enrollment demands. When a need arises, candidates from the pool are reviewed, and the Department will contact them directly. Candidates not residing in Michigan will be employed through Edustaff, which will handle employment offers, salary, and benefits, not OCC. To be considered, applicants must attach a resume, cover letter, unofficial transcripts (indicating degree conferral date), and any relevant licenses/certifications to their online application. Official transcripts (sent directly from institution to institution) are required within 30 days of hire.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Engineering
• Commitment to using modern technology in the classroom

Nice To Haves

• Experience with multi-cultural students and staff preferred
• Ability to work as a team player in a multi-cultural working environment
• Online teaching experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Primary responsibility will be to teach anticipated day and/or evening Pre-Engineering courses, which range from basic to advanced skill levels.
• Where applicable, adjuncts are required to maintain and/or provide licensure and certifications.
