The Antoinette Westphal College of Media Arts & Design, the creative heart of Drexel University, trains the next generation of scholars, thinkers, makers, and doers in media, entertainment, design, and the visual and performing arts. Westphal offers 18 undergraduate and nine graduate majors in award-winning facilities that encourage collaboration across creative disciplines. The college reimagines the role of design, media, and the arts in building a better future, challenging students to center sustainability, access, and equity in their approaches to art, fashion, architecture, gaming, entertainment, and scholarship. Through experiential learning, studio-based curriculum, and Drexel’s Cooperative Education program, students are positioned to face the world’s challenges and define the creative careers of the 21st century. Adjunct faculty may teach 1 to 2 courses per semester and should be capable of teaching various levels of the undergraduate program. The ideal candidate will be proficient in traditional techniques and possess a broad understanding of new approaches to Photography. The interdisciplinary nature of the program requires faculty to maintain an active professional practice and contribute meaningfully to various areas. Adjunct faculty are responsible for effectively teaching students in assigned classroom or remote settings and implementing the mission of the Department of Design. Teaching responsibilities may include day or evening classes, with potential for online only, in-person only, or a combination of both.
