About The Position

Ivy Tech Bloomington campus is searching for Nursing professionals who are passionate about teaching the next generation of nurses the knowledge and skills it takes to be a great nurse. This is part time and range between 6-12 hours per week. Typical adjuncts will work 1 or 2 days in the clinical setting and hours would be between 7am-5pm. This is an in person position in a local clinical site or on campus. Adjuncts make $46.75 per contact hour (time in front of students). Adjunct Faculty are responsible for creating a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals; and for providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided. Requirements

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Registered Nurse
  • Possesses a current, unencumbered Indiana Registered Nurse license
  • Master's Degree in Nursing
  • If holds a Bachelor's Degree must be enrolled in Master's Degree in Nursing program
  • Required documentation of immunity to communicable/infectious diseases as required by our clinical agencies
  • Documentation of current CPR certification, BLS Provider (American Heart Association) or Health Care provider level (American Red Cross)

  • Master's Degree in Nursing Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates student learning by delivering assigned classes in accordance with College policy and course objectives.
  • Makes optimal use of available technology to enhance instructional methods.
  • Develops/maintains course outlines, syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, tests, and materials.
  • Maintains accurate student records, grades, and other requirements.
  • Engages with students in meaningful and productive ways that impact student learning and leads to a positive experience with Ivy Tech Community College, shows evidence of developing and implementing active classroom teaching strategies focused on engaging students with their learning (curricular).
  • Interacts with students and co-workers in a professional and cooperative manner, complies with College policies, campus guidelines and expectations.
  • Ensures knowledge of and implements emergency and safety procedures for classrooms, labs and all learning environments.
  • All responsibilities will be conducted within the parameters of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), other applicable regulatory requirements, and professional standards.
