Requirements

  • Minimum of an Associate's degree in a related field.
  • Professional experience in architecture, engineering, or a construction-related field.
  • Current knowledge of building codes, materials, and construction terminology.
  • Current knowledge of industry standards, symbols, scales, and conventions used in blueprint reading.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting construction drawings.
  • Strong instructional and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver hands-on blueprint reading workshops focused on the interpretation and application of construction drawings.
  • Deliver instruction across Architectural, Structural, Site, Civil, Mechanical, Plumbing, and Electrical plans.
  • Demonstrate how construction drawings, details, schedules, specifications, symbols, and other technical documentation are used in real-world construction settings.
  • Aim to bridge theory and practice, fostering confidence and accuracy in reading and utilizing technical drawings for construction personnel.
  • Guide learners through real-world scenarios and problem-solving exercises.
  • Have the capacity to adapt teaching methods to various experience levels and learning styles.
  • Evaluate student learning through practical exercises, assessments, and other instructional activities.
  • Provide academic support, individualized guidance, and constructive feedback to help students strengthen their skills.
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and interactive learning environment that encourages questions, discussion, and hands-on participation.
  • Check college email regularly and complete required training.
