About The Position

Merrimack College is seeking highly qualified, forward-thinking academics and practitioner-scholars with terminal degrees to join its graduate business faculty as Adjunct Lecturers for the 2026-2027 academic year. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about teaching at the graduate level and designing innovative, industry-aligned experiential business courses. Requirements

  • Terminal degree in a business discipline or closely related field (e.g., PhD, DBA, JD, EdD, or equivalent).
  • Demonstrated expertise in one or more core or emerging business areas.
  • Experience teaching online/hybrid at the graduate level (MBA, MS, or equivalent).
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles and applied business education.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills in online and/or in-person environments.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with academic leadership, faculty, staff, and students.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional industry experience at a managerial or executive level.
  • Experience with online pedagogy and learning management systems (e.g., Canvas).
  • Experience designing graduate-level courses and assessments.
  • Relevant industry credentials (e.g., CPA, CMA, CFA, CFE, PMP, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Effectively deliver graduate-level courses in business disciplines.
  • Facilitate engaging learning experiences and incorporate real-world applications and experiential learning into coursework.
  • Course management (e.g., create innovative assessments, provide timely grading and constructive feedback).
  • Design and develop high-quality graduate-level courses aligned with program learning outcomes, accreditation requirements, and industry needs.
  • Integrate emerging technologies (e.g., AI tools, data analytics platforms) into course content and assignments.
  • Stay current with emerging trends and advancements in business, technology, and pedagogy to ensure course content is relevant and aligned with evolving industry needs.
  • Support continuous improvement through course evaluation and refinement.
  • Mentor and guide students toward academic and professional success.
  • Collaborate collegially and professionally with academic leadership to ensure curriculum relevance, rigor, and differentiation.

Benefits

  • Compensation: Minimum: $5,000 per 4-credit course
  • Compensation: Minimum: $3,750 per lab section
