About The Position

The Department of Psychology and Neuroscience at Merrimack College is seeking adjunct faculty to teach graduate courses in its new Master of Science in Industrial/Organizational (I/O) Psychology program, starting in Fall 2026. The department is looking for qualified instructors for specific graduate courses: PSY5220 – Research and Ethics in Organizations, which covers research design and professional ethics in organizational settings, including IRB processes and data governance; PSY5230 – Psychometrics, focusing on advanced applications in psychological measurement, test development, and psychometric analysis using R and Power BI; and PSY5240 – Data Analysis for I/O Psychology, which involves applied statistics and analytics for organizational research using software like R/SPSS, with an emphasis on interpretation for non-technical stakeholders. Courses are expected to be offered in an 8-week format, either online (primarily asynchronous with optional synchronous meetings) or in a hybrid format. Applicants should specify their experience with these teaching modalities.

Requirements

Master's degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Psychology, Organizational Behavior, Human Resource Management, or a closely related field.
Demonstrated expertise in the content area(s) of the course(s) being taught.
Ability to foster a culture that supports Merrimack's Catholic and Augustinian mission.

Nice To Haves

Ph.D. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology or a closely related discipline.
Experience teaching graduate-level courses.
Applied experience in organizational research, personnel selection, organizational consulting, people analytics, or related professional practice.
Experience using statistical software such as R, SPSS, SAS, or Python (particularly for PSY5240).
Familiarity with APA and Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP) principles and guidelines.
Experience teaching in online or hybrid modalities.

Responsibilities

Teach graduate courses in the new Master of Science in Industrial/Organizational (I/O) Psychology program.
Cover topics such as research design, professional ethics, IRB processes, data governance, psychological measurement, test development, applied statistics, and data analysis for organizational research.
Utilize statistical software (e.g., R, SPSS, SAS, Python) for data analysis and interpretation.
Emphasize interpreting results for non-technical stakeholders and linking analyses to actionable decisions.
Conduct lab-based assignments and prepare cumulative analysis reports.
Potentially teach in an 8-week format, online (asynchronous with optional synchronous meetings), or hybrid format.
