Adjunct Instructor - Welding
About The Position
Paul D. Camp Community College is a small 2-year college in Southeast Virginia with campuses in Franklin and Suffolk, and a center in Smithfield. The college offers associate degrees, certificates, and career studies certificates in transfer and career/technical programs. It also provides credit and non-credit workforce services and training for businesses and industries, special interest classes for the community, and summer classes for youth through the Regional Workforce Development Center. A dual enrollment program for high school students, online courses, and developmental studies classes are available. This role involves providing instruction, support, assessment, and mentorship to Community College learners for the welding program within the Division of Workforce Development. Instructors are expected to fully participate in the mission and community of the college, with a primary focus on teaching. This includes working with non-credit program participants in classrooms, laboratories, field sites, distance learning, individual conferences, and related contexts to foster learner development.
Requirements
- Instructional experience in welding.
- Ability to provide support, assessment, and mentorship to learners.
- Willingness to participate in the college's mission and community.
Responsibilities
- Providing instruction, support, assessment, and mentorship to Community College learners for the welding program for the Division of Workforce Development.
- Fully participating in the mission and community of the college.
- Teaching by working with (non-credit) program participants in classrooms, laboratories, field sites, distance learning, individual conferences, and related contexts to help learners develop their interest and abilities to the fullest.
