About The Position

Normandale Community College is seeking Adjunct Instructors to join our STEM Departments. The STEM departments that are looking for Adjunct Instructors are: Biology, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, and Physics. We believe in supporting a quality education experience that provides learning opportunities for our diverse student body. Normandale Community College is striving to achieve racial equity in educational outcomes. Those hired into these positions will be expected to advance this goal through culturally responsive teaching, identifying barriers to success for students of color, and proposing effective solutions to eliminate those barriers.

Requirements

  • Master's degree with a major in the STEM field you are applying for or Master's degree with a minimum of 18 graduate semester credits (27 graduate quarter credits) in STEM field you are applying for.
  • Must be able to lawfully accept employment in the United States at the time of employment.
  • Normandale does not sponsor visas.

  • Experience teaching courses with innovative teaching practices to support the success and retention of underrepresented students, including students of color, first-generation students, and Pell eligible students
  • Evidence of continuous professional development related to diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Demonstrated commitment to collegial activities - service on committees, developing assessment, and guiding students

  • Advance the goal of racial equity in educational outcomes through culturally responsive teaching.
