About The Position

Pacific University is seeking experienced special education teachers to join its pool of qualified, part-time adjunct faculty. The role involves teaching courses in the undergraduate special education teacher education program, which emphasizes critical thinking and social justice. The program aims to prepare future educators to be advocates and experts in K-12 special education, bridging theory with classroom realities and equipping students with evidence-based tools for preliminary licensure. Part-time positions are available throughout the academic year, including summer sessions. Instructors with expertise matching course scheduling needs will be contacted for interviews.

Requirements

  • A Master’s degree in Special Education or a closely related field.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of full-time teaching experience in K-12 public school special education settings.
  • Current teaching license and good standing with TSPC.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without employer visa sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience teaching at the collegiate level or providing professional development to adult learners.
  • Strong familiarity with Oregon Department of Education (ODE) regulations and special education law.
  • Daytime availability for in-person instruction.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality, in-person instruction on the Forest Grove campus.
  • Provide high-quality instruction and timely feedback to undergraduate students seeking preliminary licensure in special education.
  • Engage with department faculty to ensure curricular alignment and student success.
