About The Position

Capital Health is seeking an Adjunct Instructor for the School of Radiology. This role involves preparing and maintaining course outlines and objectives, developing educational programs, instructing and evaluating students in the classroom setting according to ASRT curriculum, and monitoring student progress. The instructor will develop appropriate evaluations, provide additional instruction and remedial work when necessary, and counsel students regarding their progress. Responsibilities also include recording and tabulating academic grades, maintaining academic files, addressing student concerns, participating in the assessment process, and determining if educational goals are met. The role involves assisting with the assessment of needs for educational supplies, participating in the review and revision of course materials, and assisting program officials on various committees. The instructor will identify areas for curriculum improvement and maintain current knowledge of the professional discipline, scholarly activities, applicable regulations, and standards. Continuing professional development and self-development through continuing education are also key aspects of this role.

Requirements

  • Academic and/or professional credentials appropriate to the subject content area taught (JRCERT Standards).
  • Three years’ experience in the content area taught.
  • Certification and/or licensure appropriate to the content area taught.
  • Diagnostic Radiography License

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and maintains course outlines and objectives.
  • Develops educational programs as needed that include rationale, measurable objectives, course outlines, syllabi, and evaluation methodologies.
  • Instructs, and evaluates students, and reports progress.
  • Instructs and evaluates students in the classroom setting according to current ASRT curriculum.
  • Develops appropriate evaluations of student work.
  • Monitors student progress on an on-going basis and keeps program officials informed.
  • Provides additional instructions and remedial work when necessary.
  • Counsels students regarding their progress on an ongoing basis according to established procedures.
  • Records and tabulates students' academic grades and maintains their academic files on an ongoing basis and submits in a timely manner.
  • Addresses student concerns and complaints in a fair and equitable manner.
  • Participates in the assessment process, as appropriate.
  • Determines whether educational goals are met.
  • Assists in the assessment of needs for educational supplies, including audiovisual materials and computer program and makes recommendations.
  • Participates in periodic review and revision of course materials.
  • Assists program officials as needed on various committees.
  • Identifies areas for improvement of the curriculum and program.
  • Maintains current knowledge of the professional discipline, as appropriate.
  • Participates in scholarly activities and stays abreast of current, applicable regulations and standards.
  • Maintains appropriate expertise and competence through continuing professional development.
  • Assumes responsibility for self-development through participation in continuing education in the professional discipline and other appropriate learning experiences and submits documentation to program director.
