About The Position

This part-time adjunct faculty position requires teaching in-person and/or online undergraduate and/or graduate courses in the Public Health degree program on an as needed basis.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree or higher from an accredited college or university in Public Health or a related field.
  • Ability to teach effectively, according to University standards, in the undergraduate and/or graduate Public Health programs.
  • Criminal history and background check clearance.
  • Uphold the mission and values of USM, College of Nursing and Health Professions, and the School of Health Professions.
  • Specialized knowledge in the field of Public Health as demonstrated by graduate level coursework or professional experience is required.
  • Ability to deliver accurate, concise and quality communication (verbal and written) in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work collaboratively on interdisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to navigate and use learning management systems for teaching, such as Canvas, as well as other technological communications (Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without the need for visa sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Teaching, mentoring, and/or service experience at the university level
  • Professional experience in Public Health
  • Experience with USM's Learning Management System, Canvas.

Responsibilities

  • Face-to-face course delivery and instruction.
  • Prepare and submit syllabi, grades and other required course documentation in a timely manner.
  • Communicate course requirements and expectations to students.
  • Communicate with other program and school-level faculty.
  • Performs other duties, as assigned.
