About The Position

The College seeks to build a pool of qualified applicants to teach future sections of ProTools courses. The courses cover various levels of ProTools software, from basic principles of project creation to advanced techniques for score realization and professional scoring for media. The curriculum includes MUTC-101 (ProTools I), MUTC-102 (ProTools II), MUTC-201 (ProTools III), and MUTC-201 (ProTools IV), each building upon the previous level's skills.

Requirements

• Must be an Avid-certified instructor with ProTools-100 (user-level) certification.
• Must have SO-110 (Sonnox) certification.
• Must have at least five years of studio experience.
• Master’s degree or Bachelor’s degree plus equivalent experience required.

• College teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses in subject matter as assigned.
• MUTC -101, ProTools ® I: Covers basic principles for creating a Pro Tools® project, including installation, initial setup, score creation, MIDI entry, simple entry, and sequencer techniques.
• MUTC – 102, ProTools ® II: Builds upon Pro Tools® I skills, guiding students through advanced beginner-level tools and techniques for score creation, including advanced note entry, .xml and .way file creation, articulation tools for orchestral families, and creating scores for wind ensemble, brass quintet, and string quartet.
• MUTC – 201, ProTools ® III: Builds upon ProTools® I and II skills, guiding students through advanced tools and techniques for score realization using cross-platform techniques with other software, and working with video/gaming tools for basic musical enhancement.
• MUTC – 201, ProTools ® IV: Builds upon ProTools® I, II, and III skills, guiding students through professional tools and techniques for live performance, professional video/gaming/film scoring, and cross-platform functions, including completing a professional-level project and presenting it for review.
