About The Position

This is a non-tenure track position within the BSN Program. The primary responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses in the School of Nursing as assigned. The role requires a commitment to the philosophy and outcomes of the School of Nursing, maintaining professional development, and fostering positive relationships within the university and the larger community. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

• Two years of full-time clinical experience in the area/areas of teaching responsibility.
• Knowledge and skills related to teaching adults, teaching methodology, curriculum development, evaluation, or willingness to plan for acquisition of these skills no later than the first year of teaching.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Highly organized, detailed-oriented with the ability to multi-task.
• Current/unencumbered Registered Nurse license in the State of Missouri.
• Current healthcare provider CPR certification.
• Master's in nursing degree required.

Nice To Haves

• Previous teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare course content and curriculum, utilizing assessment and effective methodologies of instruction for the enhancement of learning.
• Collaborate with other faculty members on the development, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum.
• Provide appropriate classroom/laboratory/clinical instruction for students enrolled in assigned nursing course(s).
• Maintain expertise in field of study and teaching pedagogy by attending seminars, workshops, and classes for self-improvement and/or professional enhancement.
• Enrich the community through university outreach and assist in student development outside the classroom.
• Maintain professional development activities.
• Maintain positive relationships within the University and in the larger community.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
