About The Position

Develop and teach courses in the Patient Care Tech Certificate. Duties & Responsibilities Instruct online and traditional in-person lecture and lab courses. Traditional, in-person class times vary and may include daytime and evening courses. Provide instruction and conduct classes in accordance with the mission and values of the College and within the scope of a defined course of study. Assist and advise students during office hours or appointments. Prepare, distribute, and submit syllabi for all assigned sections in accordance with College, department and divisional policies and processes. Evaluate and return student work in a timely manner (not to exceed one week) to promote student learning. Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance in class. Submit final grades and all other required documents and reports according to established deadlines. Use the College learning management system (CANVAS) to create course content. Partner with MAT Coordinator to evaluate and track student progress in clinical coursework. Provides student mentoring, ongoing course development, and student and course assessment.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of patient care technician procedures, protocols, and practices.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Associate degree from an accredited college in a health-related field
  • Registered Nurse (RN), or Certified Patient Care Technician (PCT), or Certified Medical Assistant

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience with traditional and online teaching.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related career field.
