About The Position
Penn State Altoona invites applications for a Part Time Instructor position in the Department of Physics for Fall 2026. Candidate must have a Ph.D. or master’s or must be a graduate student in physics or related fields. Teaching responsibilities would include introductory physics lab courses and sometimes lecture courses for science, engineering and non-science majors as well as tutoring at the Student Success Center.
Requirements
- Ph.D. or master’s degree in physics or related fields, or be a graduate student in physics or related fields.
- Submit a letter of application establishing qualifications.
- Submit a current vita.
- Submit a description of teaching approach and evidence of teaching effectiveness.
- Submit transcripts (with official transcripts required at the time of the interview).
Responsibilities
- Teach introductory physics lab courses.
- Teach lecture courses for science, engineering and non-science majors.
- Tutor at the Student Success Center.
