Adjunct Instructor of English for faculty pool; candidates may be called as department needs arise
About The Position
The Languages & Literature Department periodically seeks a qualified, part-time instructor to teach English or composition courses. This position involves teaching English courses at various times and locations, creating engaging lessons that promote student involvement and application of material, and using a course syllabus for each course following established institutional guidelines. The instructor will evaluate students to measure their progress and inform them of their progress in a timely manner. Maintaining professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community is also a key responsibility. This position is security sensitive.
Requirements
- Qualified part-time instructor to teach English or composition courses
- Responsible for personal safety and the safety of others; must exercise due caution and practice safe work habits at all times.
Responsibilities
- Teach English courses at a variety of times and locations
- Create engaging lessons that promote student involvement and application of the material
- Use a course syllabus for each course, following established institutional guidelines
- Evaluates students to measure their progress in achieving course objectives and informs students in a timely manner of their progress
