About The Position

The University of Portland Department of Biology invites applications for Adjunct Instructors to teach Molecular Biology courses (lectures or labs). Subjects may include genetics, cell and molecular biology, microbiology, and/or immunology. This position requires course instruction with three in-person class contact hours per week per section, maintaining regular availability to meet with students, and participation in department orientation and trainings. Adjunct Instructors are hired on a per semester basis and teach assigned Biology courses, not to exceed six credit hours (or equivalent) per semester.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Biology or a related field.
  • Experience in teaching at the university level.
  • Expertise in molecular biology, genetics, cell biology, microbiology, or immunology.

Nice To Haves

  • Ph.D. in Biology or a related field.
  • Experience with online teaching platforms.
