About The Position

Brandeis University’s Online Information Technology Management Program is seeking an Adjunct Faculty member for RITM 135 Technology Innovation, Product Development, and Strategic Leadership for the Fall-2 2026 session. This 3-credit asynchronous online course is an 8-week requirement for the Master of Science in Information Technology Management. This course explores innovation lifecycles, product design principles, strategic decision-making, and leadership in technology organizations. Students learn to guide innovation initiatives from concept through execution, balancing technical feasibility with organizational impact.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Technology Management, Innovation Management, Business Administration (technology focus), Information Systems, Engineering Management, or a closely related field
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in technology innovation, product development, digital transformation, or strategic technology leadership
  • Demonstrated experience guiding products or innovation initiatives from concept through launch and lifecycle management
  • Experience with product strategy, roadmap development, stakeholder alignment, and cross-functional leadership
  • Minimum 1 year experience developing asynchronous online courses for adult learners in higher education
  • At least 1 year of teaching or training experience (preferably online/asynchronous)
  • Experience with online instruction
  • Excellent communication and teaching skills in an online learning environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Doctorate (PhD or DBA) in Technology Management, Innovation, Business Strategy, Information Systems, Organizational Leadership, or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in senior technology leadership, product management, innovation strategy, or executive-level decision-making roles
  • Professional experience as a Chief Technology Officer (CTO), Chief Product Officer (CPO), VP of Product, Innovation Director, or similar role
  • Experience with innovation frameworks (e.g., Lean Startup, Design Thinking, Stage-Gate, Agile product development)
  • Industry certifications such as PMP, SAFe Agilist, Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), or equivalent
  • Experience teaching or developing graduate-level online courses
  • Prior online teaching experience at the graduate level
  • Knowledge of global learner personas and culturally responsive pedagogy
  • Familiarity with Moodle LMS and digital authoring tools (e.g., H5P)

Responsibilities

  • Organized and timely rollout of course content.
  • Maintaining consistent communication through weekly announcements.
  • Ensuring all instructional activities occur within university-approved digital platforms.
  • Building an active teaching persona by hosting live introductory sessions.
  • Facilitating weekly academic discourse in forums.
  • Maintaining regular availability for student consultation.
  • Providing transparent, rubric-based evaluations and supportive commentary on student work within a standardized weekly timeframe.
  • Adherence to university communication protocols.
  • Promotion of respectful online "netiquette".
  • Ensuring the course meets accessibility and technical visibility standards before and during the term.
