About The Position

Brandeis University’s Online Information Technology Management Program is seeking an Adjunct Faculty member for RITM 130 IT Operations, Vendor Ecosystems, and Technology Financial Management for the Fall-2 2026 session. This 3-credit asynchronous online course is an 8-week requirement for the Master of Science in Information Technology Management. This course will provide students with an opportunity to examine the operational, financial, and external-partner dimensions of managing enterprise technology. The course covers vendor governance, service-level agreements, financial planning, cost modeling, and operational maturity frameworks.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Information Systems, IT Management, Technology Management, Business Administration (technology focus), or a closely related field
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in IT operations, technology management, vendor governance, or enterprise service delivery
  • Demonstrated expertise in IT operations frameworks (e.g., ITIL, COBIT), service management, and operational maturity models
  • Experience with vendor management, service-level agreements (SLAs), contract oversight, and third-party risk considerations
  • Experience in technology budgeting, cost modeling, financial planning, or IT financial management (e.g., OpEx/CapEx planning, chargeback models)
  • Minimum 1 year experience developing asynchronous online courses for adult learners in higher education
  • At least 1 year of teaching or training experience (preferably online/asynchronous)
  • Experience with online instruction
  • Excellent communication and teaching skills in an online learning environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Doctorate (PhD or DBA) in Information Systems, Technology Management, Business Administration, Public Policy (technology focus), or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in IT operations leadership, technology portfolio management, or enterprise service governance
  • Professional experience as a CIO, IT Operations Director, Technology Portfolio Manager, Vendor Management Lead, or similar leadership role
  • Industry certifications such as ITIL Managing Professional, COBIT, Certified Technology Business Management (CTBM), PMP, or equivalent
  • Experience teaching or developing graduate-level online courses
  • Prior online teaching experience at the graduate level
  • Knowledge of global learner personas and culturally responsive pedagogy
  • Familiarity with Moodle LMS and digital authoring tools (e.g., H5P)

Responsibilities

  • Focuses on the organized and timely rollout of course content, maintaining consistent communication through weekly announcements, and ensuring all instructional activities occur within university-approved digital platforms.
  • Centers on building an active teaching persona by hosting live introductory sessions, facilitating weekly academic discourse in forums, and maintaining regular availability for student consultation.
  • Emphasizes the professional obligation to provide transparent, rubric-based evaluations and supportive commentary on student work within a standardized weekly timeframe.
  • Requires adherence to university communication protocols, the promotion of respectful online "netiquette," and ensuring the course meets accessibility and technical visibility standards before and during the term.
