About The Position

This position will be teaching as a part-time instructor for the Kilgore College EMS Program. The Adjunct/Part-time Instructor assumes responsibility for performance of all functions generally identified by the college as within the realms of the instructor. In addition, the instructor participates in planning, implementing, and evaluating the teaching-learning process in the classroom, Skills Lab, or clinical setting. They maintain accurate and complete course records as required by Kilgore College. The instructor also keeps abreast of current trends in education and EMS practice to improve their instructional ability and maintains public relations with assigned clinical agencies, including assessing the adequacy of available clinical learning experiences. They refer students to appropriate references when indicated.

Requirements

  • Hold a current license to practice as a Licensed/Certified Paramedic in the state of Texas.
  • Have a minimum of 1 year of work experience in EMS, Emergency Room, ICU setting.
  • Show evidence of teaching abilities and maintaining current knowledge, clinical expertise and safety in subject area of teaching responsibility.
  • Must live in the State of Texas.
  • Must be available to physically present to work on the Kilgore, TX or Longview, TX Campus.
  • Must submit official transcripts upon an offer of employment.
  • Must pass a background check.
  • Must submit satisfactory proof of employment authorization and identity within three (3) days of being hired.

Nice To Haves

  • An EMS Instructor certification is preferred.
