About The Position

Greenville University’s Department of Biology and Chemistry is seeking an adjunct instructor for Ecology. The selected candidate must provide evidence of a vibrant Christian faith, clearly understand and internalize the mission of Greenville University, and articulate the value of Christian higher education. Greenville University is a liberal arts university that empowers students for lives of character and service through a transforming Christ-centered education. The university is located 50 miles east of St. Louis in an attractive residential community of approximately 7,000 people. Greenville was founded in 1892 and is affiliated with the Free Methodist Church yet draws students from 40+ denominations.

Requirements

• Commitment to the integration of faith with the discipline.
• Commitment to competent inter-cultural teaching
• A graduate degree or at least 18 graduate credits earned in Ecology, Environmental Sciences, or related fields.
• A demonstrated, vibrant Christian faith compatible with the mission of Greenville University.
• A commitment to excellence in teaching in the context of an undergraduate, liberal arts education.
• Experience in engaging students in learning in settings that may include classroom, laboratory, and online (preferred).
• A commitment to the integration of Christian faith with the discipline of biology and health care.
• Ability to engage in critical thinking and exercise independent judgment.
• Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral forms.

Nice To Haves

• PhD preferred
• Experience in engaging students in learning in settings that may include classroom, laboratory, and online

Responsibilities

• Teaching the course lecture and lab for Ecology.

Benefits

• Regular Undergraduate Adjunct rate with class enrollment of 10 or more per credit hour is $1000. This rate is subject to change based on enrollment numbers for the course.
