The International Theatre Program of the Department of English is seeking an Adjunct Instructor/Director for the Spring 2027 Semester, specifically from 12/11/26 to 3/15/2027. The role involves teaching THTR 290-01 Plays in Performance: The Secretary, a 4-credit course. In addition to teaching, the instructor will be responsible for approximately 28 hours of rehearsal per week related to the course production. Key dates for the production include auditions on December 11-12, 2026, callbacks on December 13, 2026, and rehearsals beginning January 22, 2027. Standard rehearsal times are Tuesday-Friday, 7pm-11pm; Saturdays, 10am-1pm & 2pm-5pm; and Sundays, 11am-2pm & 3pm-6pm. Mondays are typically an Actors' Night Off. A Designers Run is scheduled for Monday, February 15, 2027. Tech Weekend is from February 19-21, 2027. Dress rehearsals are on February 23-24, 2027, with the production opening on Thursday, February 25, 2027. The instructor will be responsible for grading students involved in the production, utilizing the URStudent program, with grades due by the last performance or end of residency. The total weekly service commitment is equivalent to 32 hours (28 hours rehearsal/class time, 4 hours preparation, advising, and mentoring), as determined by the Artistic Director of the International Theatre Program.
