PT - Adjunct Instructor, Cosmetology
About The Position
Adjunct Instructor, Cosmetology provides quality learning experiences, facilitates, and evaluates the learning process, mentors students, participates in job-related professional development opportunities, and assists cosmetology instructors when needed. This role involves teaching assigned courses, ensuring essential curricular components are met, evaluating student progress, and maintaining professional communication. The instructor will also incorporate instructional technology, ensure the cleanliness and proper operation of instructional areas and equipment, and maintain accessibility for students. Additionally, the role requires providing and facilitating quality experiences in laboratory and/or clinical settings and ensuring compliance with State Board regulations.
Requirements
- Hold current cosmetology license
- Current Cosmetology Instructors License
- Teaching experience at a community college

Responsibilities
- Teach all assigned courses for the full duration of scheduled instruction on an as needed basis.
- Assist with classroom/client floor coverage when needed for absent instructors.
- Ensure that each class session contains essential curricular components, incorporates appropriate content and pedagogy, and is relevant to current events/trends.
- Evaluate student progress and provide appropriate, timely feedback.
- Maintain appropriate and professional communication with students.
- Incorporate appropriate instructional technology to enhance student learning.
- Ensure cleanliness of instructional areas and laboratories.
- Ensure the proper operation of classroom/lab equipment, reporting any malfunctions to the appropriate person(s).
- Maintain appropriate accessibility for students.
- Advocate and provide motivation for students.
- Communicate student needs to Program Head or Dean of Business Programs.
- Support all functions of the College, including compliance with all facets of the College's policies.
- Provide and/or facilitate quality experiences in laboratory and/or clinical settings to meet program needs.
- Ensure compliance with State Board regulations.
