About The Position

Waukesha County Technical College (WCTC) is seeking dynamic and dedicated adjunct instructors to join the Humanities, Communication, and Social Sciences department. The successful candidate will provide students with a strong foundation in Communication paired with exceptional teaching skills, demonstrating the most effective teaching and learning research in lesson planning and content delivery. This candidate will demonstrate collegiality, flexibility, and leadership within the department, school, and college. Under the direct supervision of the associate dean, the primary responsibility is providing instruction to students enrolled in a variety of communication courses. Classes may include Oral/Interpersonal Communications, Speech (public speaking), and Communications in the Workplace. Pay will vary by course being taught.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Oral Communications, Public Speaking or a Master’s degree in a related field with 18 graduate level credits in Oral Communication.
  • At least one year of post-secondary teaching experience required as the lead instructor (not TA work).
  • Post-secondary experience in designing, planning, and implementing alternative delivery formats (internet, accelerated, hybrid).
  • Experience in CANVAS or similar learning management system.
  • Online teaching experience required.
  • Wisconsin state resident.

  • Teaching experience, work experience or experience developing curriculum in the area of international or diversity studies.
