About The Position

Since 1966, the Capital District Educational Opportunity Center (EOC), a division of Hudson Valley Community College and part of the State University of New York, has offered tuition-free academic and workforce development opportunities to disadvantaged and educationally under-prepared individuals. Requirements

  • an Associate’s Degree or appropriate educational credits, certifications, Bachelor’s of Science in Career and Technical Education, or experience to enable satisfactory performance and instruction in the designated area of building trades
  • five (5) years of relevant professional experience
  • demonstrated ability to teach
  • demonstrated knowledge of Internet navigation and email access

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with educationally and economically disadvantaged adult populations
  • Certified OSHA 10-hour Trainer

Responsibilities

  • Conduct classes in the theory and practice of building trades, including mathematics.
  • Skill areas include: proper use of tools, machines, and materials; electrical safety; building maintenance; plumbing; and carpentry.
