About The Position

The School of Architecture and Design (SoAD) is seeking a part-time adjunct instructor for the Fall 2026 semester to teach an in-person course for the Bachelor of Science in Building Sciences program. The course, BSCI4000 – Building Performance Analysis, introduces advanced digital tools for simulating, predicting, and analyzing building components, whole buildings, and urban environments. Students will explore the relationship between Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Building Energy Modeling (BEM), focusing on BIM-to-BEM workflows, interoperability, and current modeling challenges. Through lectures, demonstrations, case studies, and group projects, students will learn how integrated digital tools can support energy-conscious design strategies from early conceptualization to detailed design development. This 4-credit course is scheduled on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:00 AM to 9:45 AM. The fall term runs from September 8th to December 8th, followed by a review and exam period. Requirements

  • Master’s degree in architecture, environmental design, or a related field.
  • Ability to teach BSCI4000 – Building Performance Analysis.
  • Availability for Tuesday and Thursday classes from 8:00 AM to 9:45 AM during the Fall 2026 semester.
