About The Position

The University of Northern Colorado College of Osteopathic Medicine (UNC COM) is seeking applications for adjunct radiology faculty in the Department of Anatomy. The selected candidates will contribute to the development, assessment, and instruction of the preclinical curriculum in the osteopathic medical program. Anticipated time commitment is 4 hours per week (.1 FTE). This is an open pool posting and applicants will be contacted only if a suitable position becomes available. The pool may be used to fill vacancies for the Fall 2026 - Summer 2027. This pool expires 05/31/2027. Applicants wishing to remain in this pool past 05/31/2027 must reapply at that time.

Requirements

  • DO, MD, or equivalent degree.
  • Proficiency in teaching all major medical imaging modalities.
  • Strong ability to translate imaging concepts into accessible content for preclinical learners.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams)
  • Proficiency in curriculum design, delivery, and assessment.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment.
  • Commitment to student-centered teaching and active learning strategies.
  • Valid U.S. work authorization at the time of application.

Nice To Haves

  • Teaching experience in higher education, preferably in a medical or health professions college.
  • Demonstrated expertise in medical imaging across multiple modalities.
  • Experience with active learning methodologies such as TBL, CBL, or similar instructional strategies.
  • Experience teaching imaging in a medical school or health professions curriculum
  • Experience integrating imaging into basic science education (e.g., anatomy, physiology)
  • Experience with case-based, team-based, or other active learning methodologies
  • Experience with curriculum development and assessment
  • Familiarity with osteopathic medical education

Responsibilities

  • Teach medical imaging concepts in the preclinical curriculum of the osteopathic medical program including: radiography (X-ray), computed tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and Ultrasound.
  • Utilize multiple learning methods such as team-based learning (TBL), large- and small-group discussion, lecture, anatomy laboratory-based instruction, case-based learning (CBL), and flipped classrooms.
  • Integrate imaging into anatomy, physiology, and systems-based courses.
  • Develop and deliver clinically relevant imaging cases that support diagnostic reasoning.
  • Participate in curriculum development and review, ensuring alignment with accreditation standards and best practices in medical education.
  • Provides formative and summative assessment of medical student performance.
  • Participate in departmental, college, and university meetings.
  • Participate in academic advising and mentoring of medical students.
  • Contribute to the college’s mission of community engagement and healthcare improvement through outreach and service activities.
  • Support accreditation and assessment activities, including data collection and reporting.
