About The Position

Lesley University's Department of Liberal Arts seeks an adjunct faculty member to teach CANTH 1101: Cultural Anthropology during the Spring Semester 2027. The course meets in person on campus on Mondays and Wednesdays from 8:00 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. The course introduces basic anthropology concepts and methods of cultural analysis. Students analyze processes of change within and between groups, especially in relation to identity, family, religion and spirituality, economy, politics, power, and globalization. Most work is classroom-based, with experiential components that are essential to understanding the role of an anthropologist in the field. Lesley University describes itself as a highly regarded institution with graduate and undergraduate programs in education, the arts, and applied social sciences. It fosters a creative environment in which innovative ideas thrive and theory is integrated with practice. The university is committed to diversity, equity, inclusion, and creating a campus community where people can participate fully and belong.
